The time line was very tight and I think we may have set a record for turnaround time – from hello to completion in 3 months. Might sound like a lot, but that is very fast considering the work involved. We needed to first take inventory of the exiting store and identify the owners “needs and wants” as the kiosk was going to be considerably smaller than there existing location. We explored various floor plans within the set footprint of 10′ x 20′ to maximize display space and customer flow into and around the fixture. We then selected the material which had to be available immediately, cost effective, durable and maintainable within a commercial setting. The colors had to fit with the mall ascetic and let the product stand out. We handled the cost tendering with the millwork shops, and with the owners approval, awarded the project. We then began production of detailed shop drawings to solve issues ranging from lighting to security. Once all this was complete we began the approval process with the mall management and the local building inspector. Once all the required approvals had been acquired the millwork shop manufactured, delivered and installed the Kiosk…Very happy with the outcome.
I will publish the pro pics when it is all stocked up and they are operational.
